To obtain training on leading-edge Web Mapping Service (WMS) technology, enhance the MetroGIS DataFinder
website (www.datafinder.org) to incorporate WMS technology, and foster use of WMS technology by MetroGIS stakeholders
to support remote serving of geospatial data via the DataFinder portal.

Status/Findings:

This project is complete as of September 2006. An expansion of the initial grant scope was requested and granted to utilize these grant funds to enhance MetroGIS DataFinder to support Web Feature Service (WFS) in addition to Web Mapping Service (WMS) Technology. Training was received on WMS technology via this grant and it was incorporated into DataFinder without the aid of grant funds via the initial MetroGIS DataFinder Café project. The ultimate result of this grant is the availability 35 OGC-compliant map services (18 image and 17 feature services) via DataFinder |
