Obtain Endorsements from Key Stakeholders

April to December 1996
Project Manager: Randall Johnson, MetroGIS Staff Liaison
Responsible Advisory Team: Policy

In spring 1996, immediately following agreement on a mission statement and high level goals for a regional GIS, a stakeholder classification scheme was devised. By December 1996, all eleven "essential stakeholder" organizations had adopted a resolution endorsing MetroGIS’ principles and appointing one of its members to serve as a charter member of the MetroGIS Policy Board. The Policy Board met for the first time in January 1997.
