Data > Looking for GIS Applications?

Introduction

Since 1998, MetroGIS has implemented four Internet-based geospatial data applications. Three of these applications facilitate data discovery and access, while the fourth provides the user with functionality to use geospatial data to accomplish a specific business need. Improving data discovery and access has been a priority objective of MetroGIS since its inception. However, facilitating collaboration on common application needs is a relatively new objective and has been identified as a growth area for MetroGIS.

To learn more about these applications, see the summary document, which will be updated as needed. If you have an idea about a geospatial application that you would like MetroGIS to consider, please send an email to .

A forum, "Meeting Shared Geospatial Needs Beyond Data", occured on January 24, 2008 to address implementing of sustainable solutions to shared application needs of organizations. This gathering of technology professionals from a diverse cross-section of stakeholders throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area discussed the challenges and goals to set the framework for taking tangible action to address this top priority need.
