Policy Board
The MetroGIS Policy Board was formed in 1997 and serves as the policy making body for the collaborative. The Board provides a vital link between the realms technical practice and policy decisions regarding GIS implementation. The stated purpose of the Policy Board is to:
- To provide a meaningful link between the technical practice of GIS to the legal, political and fiscal factors which guide and govern it in the region;
- To deliberate on, develop and support policies which foster inter-agency cooperation and data sharing;
- To recommend actions consistent with MetroGIS principles and goals;
- To review, deliberate and act on the recommendations of the MetroGIS Coordinating Committee on matters of MetroGIS operation, programming, budget and project activity.
